    Entry Requirements

    At least 15 years old as of 1st January of the examination year.
    Applicants should meet one of these additional requirements:
    Completed GCE N Level with Pass in English and Mathematics OR
    Completed Secondary 3 education with Pass in English and Mathematics OR
    Pass the BMC GCE 'O' Level Entrance Test
    Admission is subject to approval by the management. Application which does not meet any of the additional requirements shall be treated on case-by-case basis.
    Module

    A.ENGLISH (Subject Code: 1128)

    This module prepares the students to communicate effectively in English as a result of their development in the following areas:

    Listen, read and view critically and with accuracy, understanding and appreciation a wide range of literary and informational/functional texts from print and non-print sources.
    Speak, write and represent in internationally acceptable English (Standard English) that is grammatical, fluent, mutually intelligible and appropriate for different purposes, audiences, contexts and cultures.
    Understand and use internationally acceptable English (Standard English) grammar and vocabulary accurately and appropriately as well as understand how speakers/writers put words together and use language to communicate meaning and achieve impact.
    B. MATHEMATICS (Subject Code: 4016)

    This subject provides students with the fundamental mathematical knowledge and skills. Further, at the end of the module, it aims to enable students to acquire the necessary mathematical concepts and skills for continuous learning in mathematics and related disciplines, and for applications to the real world.

    C. COMBINED SCIENCE [PHYSICS & CHEMISTRY (Subject Code: 5076); OR CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY (Subject Code: 5078)]

    This science education programme seeks to develop the academic students' knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will allow them to take an informed position on scientific issues and tensions that may be facing them in today's society.

    D. PRINCIPLES OF ACCOUNTS (Subject Code: 7092)

    The syllabus predominantly aims to develop an understanding of the principles and concepts of accounting and their applications in a variety of business situations. Also, through this module, the candidates will acquire basic knowledge in double entry and develop the ability to prepare, present, analyse and interpret financial statements.

    E. COMBINED HUMANITIES (Subject Code: 2204)

    Social Studies

    The proposed syllabus is organised around two core ideas - "Being Rooted" and "Living Global". Through these two ideas, the syllabus aims to develop our students to become well-informed and responsible citizens who have a sense of national identity and a global perspective.

    Geography

    This module is comprised of two major areas: Physical Geography and Human Geography. The first area covers Natural Vegetation and River and Coasts; while the latter includes topics on Geography of Food and Development Purposely.

    History

    This module is designed to provide students with a global perspective of the complexities of international relations. It also highlights the importance of understanding and interpreting history in all its complexity - its people, events, issues, periods, turning points, themes and sources. Likewise, this subject equips students with the necessary skills to make reasoned and informed decisions.

    F. MOTHER TONGUE LANGUAGE

    Subject Code(s): Chinese Language-1162; Malay Language-1132; Tamil Language-1142

    The mother tongue language subjects cover the understanding and application of the language. These syllabuses also intend to enhance the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of the students' mother tongue.

    G. ART (Subject Code: 6031)

    The Art syllabus is designed to provide candidates with the opportunity to give form and meaning to their ideas, thoughts and feelings through visual and tactile forms. The breadth and depth of study cater to a range of abilities and interests. Visual literacy skills such as perceiving and responding to visual images, and analysis of visual information in its many forms are also further enhanced and developed in this syllabus.

    H. ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS (Subject Code: 4047)

    The syllabus is intended to prepare students adequately for A Level H2 Mathematics and H3 Mathematics, where a strong foundation in algebraic manipulation skills and mathematical reasoning skills are required. The O Level Additional Mathematics syllabus assumes knowledge of O Level Mathematics.

    I. PURE PHYSICS (Subject Code: 5064)

    The 'O' level physics syllabus provides students with a coherent understanding of energy, matter, and their interrelationships. It focuses on investigating natural phenomena and then applying patterns, models (including mathematical ones), principles, theories and laws to explain the physical behaviour of the universe.

    J. PURE CHEMISTRY (Subject Code: 5074)

    This syllabus is designed to place less emphasis on factual materials and greater emphasis on the understanding and application of scientific concepts and principles. This approach has been adapted in recognition of the need for students to develop skills that will be of long term value in an increasingly technological world rather than focusing on large quantities of factual materials, which may have only short term relevance.

    K. LITERATURE IN ENGLISH (Subject Code: 2065)

    The study of Literature in English can be an effective means for students to explore moral and social issues.

    Via the study of literary texts, students explore the human condition and are able to better understand their own existence and values in relation to society.
    Literature addresses a wide range of psychological and social issues. At the heart of literary works are issues of conflict and a range of human desires that contribute to such conflict.
    Such exposure will encourage an understanding of moral and ethical issues, prompting students to develop an awareness of the world they live in.
    The study of Literature in English encourages students to explore literary contexts that promote an awareness of social factors that influence people.
    Literary works provide an effective way for students to appreciate and understand the different aspects of human nature, values and perspectives.Method of Delivery

    Classes are conducted using the following methodologies: Lecture, Interactive Discussion, Small Group Dynamics

    Award Criteria

    Students shall be awarded a certificate of attendance upon meeting the minimum 75% attendance requirement for local students (part-time) and 90% for international students and local students (full-time).

    Grading System

    Grades reflected on the Academic Transcripts are upon 100%, wherein the following equivalents are being used: 0-49%= Failed; and 50%-100=Passed.

    Assessment Information

    Two (2) Internal Examinations are conducted in an Academic Year namely: Mid-Year and Preliminary Examination.
    On the other hand, Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination is conducted in Singapore annually in October and November.
    All students are expected to register for their GCE O Level Examination online at www.seab.gov.sg.



    Expected date of release of Assessment result

    Assessment results for Internal Examinations (Mid-Year and Preliminary Examinations) are released to students within four (4) weeks of the last assessment for that examination cycle.

    While the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination Results are released in January/February through the Singapore Examination and Assessment Board (SEAB).
