Description
Learners must achieve the mandatory unit to achieve a total credit of 1. From this course, you will:
- Understand how to safeguard and protect children, young people and practitioners in the workplace.
- Know how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused.
This Highfield Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People (RQF) course will teach you the information and skills you'll need to safeguard and protect children and young people.
Who is this course for?
The Highfield Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People (RQF) course is for individuals wanting to serve as qualified professionals in the educational or social sector.
Progression
After successfully completing this qualification, you would be eligible to further your education by pursuing one of the following qualifications:
- HABC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
- HABC Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
- HABC Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce
- HABC Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England)
Total Qualification Time is comprised of GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or any other learning, including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor.
Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 10 hours.
Guided Learning Hours
These hours are made up of all contact time, guidance or supervision of a learner by a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, trainer or other appropriate provider of education or training.
Guided Learning Hours for this qualification is 8.
Method of Assessment
A learner workbook with open-response questions is used to test this certification. Learners must respond to predefined questions in a workbook provided by Highfield Qualifications. Successful students must be able to demonstrate their knowledge and grasp of the whole qualification course. The appointed tutor/assessor supports and assesses this assessment, and records must be kept and kept at the centre for quality assurance purposes. Centres shall take all reasonable means to ensure that no portion of a learner's assessment (including any internal quality assurance or invigilation) is carried out by anybody who has a personal stake in the outcome of the assessment.
Please note that the student must pay an extra £199 cost for assessment submission and certification. This extra charge is not payable until the submission of the assessment.
