About Course:

The aim of this course of lectures and tutorials is to familiarize the students with the central features of molecular cell biology and the new advances in oral biology that has emerged. It deals with the structure, development, and functions of the oral tissues, their interrelationships, and their relation to other organ systems in health. Students successfully completing the course will have gained an understanding of developmental events and molecular mediators of cellular activity, the embryological origin and anatomy of mineralized and soft tissues, as well as the necessary background required to understand the typical histological changes in the periodontium and bone that result from tooth movements. Also, the course develops a spirit of inquiry that leads them to seek better ways to promote and preserve oral and general health.
