Course details
Approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), our Night Visual Flight Rules (VFR) course will help you develop the skills and experience needed to fly a helicopter in good weather at night, using visual navigation and radio navigation aids. Incorporating theoretical and practical flight training, this course provides you with further advanced flying skills to improve your employment opportunities.
Flight Training
You will complete a minimum of night flying which includes:
- basic instrument flight training
- 1 hour solo circuit at night
Theory Training
- Night VFR theory covers the following:
- human factors
- aircraft requirements
- aerodrome requirements
- navigation aids
- flight planning
Training aircraft
- Robinson R44
- Bell 206
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students wishing to enrol in the Airways Aviation Night VFR should hold at least a current CASA PPL (Helicopter).
