Course details

This course is designed for multinational organizations in all sectors working in accordance with international standards or directives but adapting to local needs. It delivers organizations with a global presence seeking to adopt an internationally recognized health and safety training programme for their staff. It is an internationally recognized certification that provides an excellent underpinning knowledge of safety & health and a sound basis for evaluating hazards and risks. The syllabus integrates international, technical and other standards where they exist. In other cases, requirements and practices that represent ‘good practice’ are followed. Topics to be covered are splits into two sections each with 5 & 8 and the third one is practical application.

Unit IGC – 1 – Management of International Health and Safety

Unit IGC – 2 – control of international workplace hazards

• Workplace hazards and risk control
• Transport hazards and risk control
• Musculoskeletal hazards and risk control
• Work equipment hazards and risk control
• Electrical safety
• Fire safety
• Chemical and biological health hazards and risk control
• Physical and psychological health hazards and risk control

Unit IGC 3 – international health and safety practical assessment

This unit involves the complete assessment of work place and report to management. The NEBOSH international general certificate follows the same principles as the National General Certificate – achieving high standards of health and safety – regardless of any local legal requirements

Course assessment and certification

Candidates are assessed by an examination for each Unit IGC 1, IGC 2 and IGC 3 which is a practical health & safety assessment of a work place situation. The duration of each exam is 2 hours. Candidates must achieve a minimum pass standard in all the examinations and assessment. Succeeded candidates are awarded with the NEBOSH international general certificate in Occupational safety and health certification issued by NEBOSH UK.
