Master the art of creating dramatic Milky Way photos though advanced editing techniques to create images with low noise and pinpoint stars, and add drama to really make the Milky Way pop and glow. We will start by examining the workflow for Milky Way photos that involve separate exposures for the sky and foreground.We will focus on blending separate short exposures for the sky with longer exposures for the foregroundto create an image with pinpoint stars and a well exposed, in focus foreground, allwith low noise. A working knowledge of shooting Milky Way photos is assumed, we will touch brieflyon camera techniques but this course is about post-processing and does not teach everything you need to know about shooting the Milky Way. However, this course will be helpful even if you haven't shot any Milky Way photos yet, as it will teach you some best practices for high quality photos, and what is possible with detailed editing.
After the detailed workflow example, we will then jump into creative editing techniques for really bringing your photos to life and making the MilkyWay pop!
Section 1 -Landscape Astrophotography Editing Workflow:Start to Finish Milky Way
In thissection youll learn my start-to-finish workflow for a Milky Way landscape photo. Focusing on a single Milky Way image made up of multiple exposures, well walk through the entire process of prepping the raw files, star stacking the sky exposures, blending the sky and foreground exposures, applying noise reduction, and some final creative edits.
