Course details

Unique Course

This is the first ever Micro-renewable energy course of its kind. It has been developed for 17 years, tested on many students live before being produced into video slides with a professional course presenter.

What will I learn about?

By the end of this course you will understand how each of the technologies work, how to calculate their outputs, and how to optimise their deployment. Once completed you will be able to:

  • Assess the viability of a particular type of micro-renewable energy
  • Calculate the energy output where possible
  • Optimise its deployment
  • By taking the advanced level course you will also be able to financially analyse its benefits.

Who is this course for?

Anyone who is interested in small scale renewable energy technology.

Take this course if for your career, or to get involved in planning to invest in micro-renewable energy.

We planned this course particularly to encourage government, community and business leaders to understand how micro-renewable energy works and thus deploy them to reduce energy costs in their communities or workplaces.

Why micro-renewable energy and not all sizes of renewable energy?

Micro-renewable energy unlike large scale conventional or renewable energy power plants are cheaper and have less impact on the environment than larger scale projects. We strongly believe that individuals, influential people in business, community leaders, local politicians, and others keen to reduce their dependency on large scale national energy companies would benefit from taking this course.

Pre-requisites

All you need to be able to learn this course is to understand English and be able to do simple sums and use very basic formulas. If you can multiply and use the internet you can completely this course.

How is the course taught?

This course presented in short videos by professional course presenter Tatjana Anders. Each video provides a step by step guide using video and slide to explain how each technology works and how their outputs are calculated.

Why don't you also cover biomass?

Biomass heating is not covered in this course because we believe it has a limited future market because it is increasingly difficult for elderly people to use. We want people across the world to understand clean, renewable resources that do not lead to air pollution. Biomass may be allegedly zero-carbon, but they are highly polluting and have a detrimental impact on air quality.

The next courses

The advanced course will cover the financial aspects of micro-renewable energy, firstly from large scale perspective, then to an individual or community scale. This course will teach you the formulas you can use to accurately predict the payback times and profits involved in investing in micro-renewable energy technologies.

We are also planning two more courses looking at the future of renewable energy and sustainable development.
