Course details
In this course, you will learn about common mental health disorders in infancy and early childhood. We will review symptoms of common disorders, develop an understanding of how mental health disorders are diagnosed in childhood, and an understanding of evidence based practices used to treat childhood mental illness. We will also look at how mental health disorders develop in infancy and early childhood through the lens of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) study and discuss practical ways to develop resilience in children. Finally, we will explore the idea of using a trauma informed approach to approach work with children. This class consists of video lectures and supplemental PDF files.
