An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering and Creative Thinking with 3D CAD: Emphasizing Solid Modeling of Machines and Mechanisms with a STEM to STEAM Focus: geared around learning how to creatively use 3D CAD to create mechanism and motion.

About the Course: Creative Thinking with 3D CAD is geared to form a bridge between the arts and the science of Mechanical Design and Engineering. Hundreds of real world industry examples have been carefully selected to explain and expand on key mechanical engineering concepts, along with the 3D CAD files to get the students started. Peppered throughout the class are creative and abstract assignments that enable the student to explore and experiment by making new connections and thinking outside of their usual patterns.

Target Audience: High School and University level students. Anyone interested in finding out if Mechanical Engineering and 3D Computer Aided Design is the right career choice.

Materials Included:

·3D CAD Package (Free Student Download – very similar to the $5,000 professional version).

·Class Files – hundreds of examples used throughout the class – Part – Assembly – Motion files

·Movies – step by step class recording are used to move through the curriculum
