This course specifies the competencies required for training and certification of Inland/Inshore diving supervisors for commercial diving operations using Surface Supplied Diving Equipment (SSDE). The course outlines the competency and training requirements for Level 4 diving supervisor qualification: SSDE Diving Supervisor (also named as Inland/Inshore Diving Supervisor) (Maximum depth 30msw) and describe the competency requirements to train dive supervisors to safely and competently plan and supervise Inland/Inshore diving operations involving SSDE.What will I learn?
This competency standard outlines the minimum requirements for commercial diving supervisors to work safely and competently, and to be trained/certified as a SSDE Diving Supervisor. It is intended to provide understanding, describes the theory requirements, practical application of diving knowledge, techniques required to supervise dives while using SSDE to a maximum depth of 30msw (metres of sea water).

Suitable for individuals who are already qualified as SSDE Diver and aspires to further their commercial diving career in Singapore.
Will I receive a certificate of completion?
Upon successful completion and passed the diving supervisor training and competency assessment, the delegate will be awarded with KBA Training Centre ‘Certificate of Completion— Inland/Inshore Diving Supervisor’. Updated on 25 April, 2025
Eligibility / Requirements
- The trainee must be in possession of a valid certificate of medical fitness.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
- Be able to calculate percentages; and transpose and solve simple formulas, gas laws.
- Understand written and verbal communications in English, and be able to communicate easily with other persons. Note: This is particularly important where trainees or instructors are of differing nationalities.
- Be qualified as a CSCUBA Diving Supervisor. If trainee is a qualified SSDE Diver, he must complete both the CSCUBA and SSDE Diving Supervisor Competency Units.
- Be trained and qualified as a SSDE diver; with a minimum of 1 year experience and a minimum of 150 dives logged as a SSDE Diver. - Claims to such experience must be supported with a portfolio of certified and / or formally logged supporting evidence.
- Be able to demonstrate sufficient maturity, leadership and management skills through provision of a letter of suitability for training as a diving supervisor provided by a recognized commercial diving employer.
- Hold a certificate from a recognised diving first aid course (this may be included in the training / assessment process).
- Be trained in management of risks (MOM Accredited Risk Assessment course).
