The LEED Green Associate (LEED GA) Certification:The LEED Green Associate (LEED GA) certification is an ideal starting point for individuals new to the field of green building or those who are not currently LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs). It represents an introductory-level credential that demonstrates a fundamental understanding of sustainable design, green building principles, and the LEED rating systems. MMTI’s LEED Green Associate workshops offer a comprehensive introduction to environmental design, focusing on USGBC's LEED green building rating system. The training equips participants to pass the LEED Green Associate exam on the first attempt, marking the first step towards becoming a LEED professional.

While there are no formal eligibility requirements for the LEED Green Associate exam, GBCI recommends that candidates gain exposure to LEED and green building concepts through educational courses, volunteering, or work experience prior to taking the exam. To meet the eligibility requirements, candidates must fulfill at least one of the following:
- Have prior experience supporting a LEED-registered project
- Have work experience in a sustainable field
- Have attended an education program addressing green building principles (such as MMTI's Training)
- Candidates must also agree to the Disciplinary and Exam Appeals Policy and credentialing maintenance requirements, submit to an application audit if required, and be at least 18 years old.
- Gain an understanding of LEED rating systems, categories, and minimum program requirements
- Identify core concepts and key terms in the green building industry
- Describe the LEED certification process
- List requirements, strategies, and intents of various LEED credits
- Differentiate between the referenced standards used by LEED
- Understand best practices for achieving a sustainable project site
- Prioritize strategies for water savings and energy efficiency
- Relate material selection to Life-Cycle Assessment
- Explain how building processes and operations can impact indoor environmental quality
