Poor listening affects all aspects of organizational life including climate, productivity, and customer service. It is crucial for all organizational or small business participants to understand what effective communication "looks like" and then engage in systematic efforts to improve communication effectiveness.

This course will provide a clear picture of what listening for understanding looks like in the workplace. Course participants will learn how to identify healthy communication, talk about it in specific terms, measure it, and collectively improve it.
Participants will also learn how to use powerful tools like communication flow sheets (useful for meetings when there are opposing viewpoints) and how to use different types of note-taking systems for more effective listening.
