Introduction
This Beauty Therapy course provides a thorough understanding of the theory and practical skills, products and equipment involved in facial and body treatments, manicure/pedicure, waxing and makeup for a beauty specialist requiring recognised qualifications.
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate with 5 passes or Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent. If you are a mature student these requirements need not apply and applications will be considered based on a proven interest in the beauty industry. Entry may be subject to interview.

Course Structure
You will complete theoretical and practical studies in areas such as anatomy & physiology, makeup, waxing, manicure & pedicure, facial skincare, eye treatments, body massage and facial electrics. There will be an emphasis on practical work experience in approved beauty salons. You will be required to purchase a uniform and professional beauty and make up kit.
Career Options | Progression
On successful completion of this course you may progress to further study in the beauty therapy field (e.g. Advanced Certificate in Beauty Therapy) or to employment in beauty salons, in the hotel & leisure industry, or in cosmetic sales for beauty products.
