Course Objectives:

  • Define the most important options in Excel that are used in financial analysis
  • Use the most important functions to link between the financial statements and the results of the financial analysis
  • Explain the various types of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flows)
  • Identify the goals and methods of financial analysis
  • Explain how to calculate financial ratios

Course Outline:

Module 1: The Basic Concepts of Spreading

  • Usage of Excel interface
  • The most important options used to create and format the work book to use with the financial analysis of financial statements
  • Format of cells related to financial analysis

Module 2: Most Important Functions used in Linking between Financial Data and Financial Analysis Results

  • Different ways of sum numbers and get its average
  • Create tables and link the numbers related in the same or other statements and format all these numbers according to the program objectives
  • Use the functions (Countif – sumif – if – nestedif – if and – if or ) and creating Custom lists
  • Link equations’ results for some sheets
  • Using Data validation to identify the types of input
  • Using consolidation option for aggregating multiple paper work as one result
  • Protect sheets and used file
  • Macros
