Early Childhood Care & Education Level 6 Galway & Roscommon ETB - Galway City

A Level 6 qualification is becoming a requirement when applying for a job within the ECCE sector. The course enables the learner to acquire the skills, knowledge and competence that are required to work in a supervisory capacity in an ECCE setting. The modules are chosen so learners are well equipped to implement Aistear, Siolta and the much discussed extra pre- school year. Work Experience is 1 day a week for the duration of the course. There is also a 2 week block in the second half of the course.

Course Info

Work experience takes place two days per week throughout the academic year. Students have a practical opportunity here to apply theory, knowledge and interpersonal skills in a variety of childcare and educational settings.

Special Features

Participants will acquire an understanding of early childhood education programmes and recent curriculum development in the Irish context.

The course is delivered by highly qualified and experienced team of lecturers. The course provides excellent progression route to further education and subject to specific requirements the course can be used to apply through CAO for a third level degree in a related discipline

Entry Requirements

Suitable candidates must have obtained a relevant FETAC Level 5 Award or equivalent to be eligible for this course.
