Course details

This course has been developed from research into factors associated with therapeutic change. It critiques the Evidence Based Practice movement for overly emphasizing techniques and models more so than factors that research shows have much larger impacts on treatment outcomes.

The course will review factors associated with therapeutic change from across counselling approaches so that therapists from any model can integrate this knowledge into their treatment design and client interactions.

The course will review relationship factors, therapist factors, client factors, model factors, and placebo.

Finally it will explore the benefits of incorporating Practice Based Evidence as a beneficial habit into treatment to further maximize therapist awareness and treatment outcomes.
