Course details

Our Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) course is your quickest and most direct route to a career in aviation. Our intensive CPL is approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and has been designed in conjunction with industry to ensure that upon completion you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge you need to fly as a professional pilot. Pilots with a CPL work in a diverse range of industry sectors – from agriculture and tourism to aerial surveillance and passenger transport.

Flight training

You will complete a minimum of flying which includes at least:

  • 70 hours as pilot in command
  • 20 hours cross country as pilot in command
  • 10 hours instrument flight time

Training aircraft

  • Cessna 172
  • Diamond DA40
  • Theory training

CPL theory training covers:

  • aerodynamics
  • operations, performance and flight planning
  • aircraft general knowledge
  • navigation
  • meteorology
  • flight rules and air law
  • human factors

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students wishing to enrol in the Airways Aviation CPL should:

  • be at least 15 years old
  • be able to demonstrate English language proficiency
