The CCNA certification indicates a foundation and apprentice knowledge of networking. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer) including but not limited to use these protocols: IP, RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, and Access Lists.
Outline of CCNA ( Cisco Certified Network Associate )
CCNA1: Networking Basics 640-802
Is the first of four courses leading to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. CCNA1 introduces Cisco Networking Academy Program students to the networking field. The course focuses on network terminology and protocols, local-area networks (LANs), wide-area networks (WANs), Open System Interconnection (OSI) models, cabling, cabling tools, routers, router programming, Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, and network standards
CCNA2: Routers and Routing Basics 640-802
Is the second of four courses leading to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. CCNA2 focuses on understanding Cisco IOS commands for configuring and managing Cisco networking device and understanding EIRGP & OSPF routing protocols & troubleshooting.
CCNA3: Switching Basics and Intermediate Routing 640-802 Is the third of four courses leading to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. The course focuses on Virtual LANS (VLANs), spanning tree protocol (STP), VLAN Trunking protocol (VTP) and Access lists and filtering.
CCNA4: WAN Technologies 640-802
Is the last of four courses leading to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. The course focuses on advanced IP addressing techniques (Network Address Translation [NAT], Port Address Translation [PAT], and DHCP), WAN technology and terminology, PPP, ISDN, DDR, Frame Relay, network management, and introduction to optical networking. In addition, the student will prepare for taking the CCNA Exam.
