French (in Lieu of MT Secondary)

Course details

This course provides participants with French speaking and conversational skills necessary to communicate and integrate confidently into a French-speaking environment. Participants learn to listen to and understand spoken French and eventually to carry out discussions with co-workers and friends and talk confidently and accurately in formal and informal settings.
In Module I, focus is on phonetics, pronunciation and learning essential grammar and vocabulary in order to understand the language and carry out simple dialogue.
In Module II, there is a further development of topics learnt in the previous module. Module II develops fluency through conversational practice and a continued emphasis on pronunciation, and the teaching of grammar and vocabulary. Conversational practice is carried out though a variety of realistic and achievable exercises and participants will have opportunity for group interaction and discussion.
The courses are run in an easy relaxed setting and are kept small. Updated on 02 January, 2019
