Effective Accident Investigation Al Moalem Institute
This course is absolutely necessary for anyone who is required to investigate accidents. It gives the candidate the information needed to effectively analyze the accident event by uncovering the cause of injury, and the primary and contributing surface causes for the accident. The candidates will learn as well how to analyze and evaluate their safety management system (SMS) for root causes.
Candidates will learn and understand, when conducting the accident investigation, the question of fault and possible discipline is irrelevance and inappropriate. The course introduces a simple, yet extremely effective six-step procedure to secure the accident scene, collect information, develop the sequence of events, determine surface and root causes, recommend corrective actions and system improvements, and write an effective accident report.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, candidates should be able to:
- Explain the legal obligations to investigate accidents and incidents and why this is an integral part of OSH risk assessment
- Explain the basic legal requirements for recording and reporting
- Explain how to investigate and evaluate the events of a workplace accident or incident in order to identify the actions that should be implemented to provide a health and safety workplace
- Fill out the workplace accident/ incident documentation, prepare an accident report and make recommendations to improve health and safety procedures
