This is course will take you on a complete journey of self-discovery with your public speaking!

In the quest to become truly authentic when you're out public speaking, over 7 days you will explore:

  • your values
  • your personality
  • your accomplishments to share during public speaking
  • your big WHY
  • your public speaking personas
  • your use of personal stories when public speaking
  • your public speaking style.

With this knowledge you'll be able to:

  • reduce stage fright
  • overcome public speaking fears
  • reinforce your true message
  • play to your strengths
  • be more fully yourself when 'on stage' public speaking
  • reduce impostor syndrome
  • discover your public speaking style
  • tell meaningful stories that increase the know, like and trust factor.

You will need to spend 10 - 30 minutes each day, completing the self-exploration exercises in the comprehensive workbook. You will also need to be prepared to look deep within and be open to applying the results that you learn about yourself to your public speaking.

If you do the work you will not regret it!

People are often nervous and fearful when public speaking because they feel they have to be a different person on stage. They worry that they will be judged whenever they are public speaking, and found wanting. This in turn leads us to be less of ourselves on stage: less confident, less assured, less of who we are.

The first step is to know exactly who we are and to try to give the audience our true selves whenever we are public speaking. For example, some people will be excellent at preparation and planning, so the course suggests you focus on that, which in turn will give you confidence when you are out there doing your public speaking. By looking at what you are strong at and allowing that to reflect throughout your public speaking experience it will help you feel in control.

If, using a different example, your values revolve around friends and family, but you dislike public speaking, one way you can enjoy it more is by using stories and examples from your personal life during your speeches. That way, you are reflecting more of yourself and your likes when you are public speaking, and in turn, you are being more of the 'real' you.

Every person is different - we all have different likes and dislikes, different strengths and weaknesses. This course helps you have a stronger grasp on who you are and what motivates you and, importantly, how that can be related to your public speaking. Key areas this work can affect are your preparation, content planning and delivery.

There are no quick fixes. As with public speaking, there is no substitute for rolling up your sleeves and doing the reflective work, but once you have completed the course and have the self-knowledge to hand, it will change your approach to planning and delivering a speech. You'll inject more of yourself and become truly authentic at public speaking!
