Maliha Wehbe, established the Arabic Language Centre (ALC ) in 1980 to teach Arabic to adults, but realized that it was not only adults who needed to learn, but also children. As such, dar el-ilm was created in 1988, and since many requests were made for foreign languages, the programme was expanded to include foreign language learning for both children and personal loans adults.

They continually review and update their courses in order to meet the needs of the students. The effectiveness of our programmes can be judged by the excellent examination results the students achieve with the external examining boards. Dar El Ilm boast a 100% pass rate with mostly Distinctions, As and the occasional B.

Their vision is for their work to be to be recognized and respected as pioneers in Arabic Languahe Teaching and to become the official centre for arabic training to individuals and companies in the UAE.
