Digital film editing involves transferring film and audio into computer formats capable of being modified in a digital editor. Scenes are trimmed, cut, and arranged to create a fluid and coherent story. Dialog, music and computer graphics or computer-generated imagery (CGI) are inserted, and the product is divided into sequences, edited to eliminate errors and reviewed to ensure it follows the scripts, both the creator's priorities and intent as well as meeting the instructions of the producers. Careers in digital editing can be found in the film and television industry, broadcasting and communications or within production and editing houses.
