Course Goal: To provide students with a strong foundation in American Sign Language (ASL) within a 3-hour intensive session.
Course Objectives:

Master the ASL Alphabet:

• Accurately fingerspell the entire English alphabet.
• Recognize fingerspelled words and short phrases.

Acquire Core Vocabulary:

• Learn and use common vocabulary related to:
• Personal information (name, age, occupation)
• Family members
• Numbers 1-50
• Basic colors
• Greetings and introductions

Develop Basic Communication Skills:

• Engage in simple greetings and introductions.
• Ask and answer basic questions (, "What is your name?", "How are you?").
• Express basic needs (, "I want water," "I need to go to the bathroom").

Gain a Basic Understanding of Deaf Culture:
Brief introduction to the history and culture of the Deaf community.
Importance of eye contact and facial expressions in ASL.

Course Methodology:

• Fast-paced instruction: High-energy teaching with a focus on active learning.

Hands-on activities:

• Extensive use of interactive exercises, games, and role-playing.

Repetition and reinforcement:

• Frequent repetition of key vocabulary and signs.

Assessment:
