The course is about deriving design from art, directions to industrial design, graphic design, interior design, architecture, as well as their impact on modern trends in design and art.

Students will gain a basic knowledge of the history of art and design, which will able them to recognize periods and authors by just looking some art or design work.

In addition to the general characteristics of movements processed during the course, there is also description of society's status then, which through the history influenced artists and designers.

Objective of this course is to introduce students with different design directions so to be able to connect the design expression with the social circumstances of the period to which they belong and apply their knowledge to future graphics solutions.
