Uptrend College’s Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Business Management courses are specially designed for those who work, or wish to work, in areas of business that involve an understanding of the fundamentals of business management. They are equivalent to the first two years of a degree course. Graduates of the Advanced Diploma in Business Management can proceed to the Final Year of our Heriot-Watt University Bachelor’s degree.

The Diploma in Business Management is an 8-module qualification of which students have to attain 240 credits in total (including core module set BM01). Students who attain all 480 credits will be awarded the Advanced Diploma. Students who have prior studies or work experience can apply for credit transfers. Each module set is 60 credit points.

Pre-requisite: Student has to complete module set BM01 before taking module set BM08

Entry criteria:

Diploma in Business Management - 

• GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ Levels with a pass in English or equivalent 
• Refer to table of equivalent qualifications available for reference

Advanced Diploma in Business Management –

• Diploma in Business Management or equivalent

Mode of Delivery: Lectures/ Tutorials

Assessment Mode: Examination & Coursework

Average Teacher-Student Ratio: 1-to-35

Promotion and Award criteria:

Students who pass each module will be awarded credit points accordingly.

Diploma in Business Management – Students who have passed core module set BM01 and 3 elective module sets (50% of marks) with a total of 240 credits (including credit transfer) will be awarded the Diploma in Business Management

Advanced Diploma in Business Management – Students who have passed all module sets (50% of marks) with a total of 480 credits (including credit transfer) will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Business Management
