    This 3-day course provides practical knowledge on Change Management techniques and the Foundation certification.

    You will examine various Change Management techniques and explore which could be effectively implemented in your organization. The structured approach helps you understand how you deal with change as an individual, as a member of a team or organization, and as a leader. The program design explores the impact that change has on these four major areas:

    • Individual Change
    • Team Change
    • Organization Change
    • Leadership and Change 

    This course also prepares you for the APMG Change Management Foundation exam. Given that a primary course goal is to achieve the Foundation Certification, the course text will be provided in advance of the workshop so the participant may begin studying. In addition, daily homework assignments and practice quizzes will be provided. The Foundation-level exam is taken at the end of the third day of the course.

    Eligibility:

    • It is highly recommended that you have some experience with an organizational change initiative and also with some coursework (such as Change Agility, Organization and People Change Management, or similar workshop), but not required.
    • In addition, it is highly recommend that 8 to 10 hours of pre-course studying be completed prior to attending the course. Those who wish to pass the exam will require approximately 2 hours of study per evening during the course.

    1. Introduction to Change Management:

    • Building a strategic change management roadmap.
    • Defining organizational change fundamentals.
    • Connecting individual, team, and organizational change.

    2. Individual Change:

    • Learning styles and personal change response.
    • MBTI for understanding personality in change.
    • Techniques for managing resistance, including the GROW model for coaching.

    3. Team Change Dynamics:

    • The importance and types of teams in change.
    • Enhancing team effectiveness and cohesion.
    • Understanding team leadership in the change process.

    4. Organizational Change Readiness:

    • Exploring Morgan’s four metaphors for change.
    • Approaches to successful organizational change.
    • Analyzing the dynamics and resilience of organizational structures.

    5. Leadership in Change:

    • Selecting the best leadership style for change.
    • Deploying the SIMSCoM 5-step process (Stakeholder Identification, Mapping, Strategy, Communication, Management).
    • Building an AIDA framework for stakeholder engagement (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action).

    6. Foundation Exam Preparation:

    • Intensive review and practice with APMG sample exams.
    • Final APMG Change Management Foundation Exam.
